Crush PROJECTS

Past Projects

More than a celebration of good shorts, the Walla Walla Movie Crush has sought to be an incubator for the next generation of filmmaking. Below are a few projects the Crush has been a part of. To receive future updates, subscribe for free to Crushworthy.

FALL OF FREEDOM: LOVE OF LABOR.

The Movie Crush presents...

A nation is only as strong as its workforce. From farmers to pharmacists, factory workers to educators, contractors to creatives, there is no America without those who keep it fed, fueled, fired up, and keep the country’s coffers full. In this 80-minute block of shorts — narrative, documentary, animation, and music video — Fall of Freedom reminds us that people have always had, and always will have, the power… to make change. If we work together, we can build… a more perfect Union.

The Crush has lined up screenings for Friday, May 1st at:

The Majestic Bay (Seattle, WA)

Tasveer Film Center (Seattle, WA)

The Royal Block (Waitsburg, WA)

The Denizen Theatre (New Paltz, NY)

The University of Washington (Seattle, WA)

February Film Feast

GESA Power House Theatre, Visit Walla Walla, Walla Walla Movie Crush, and the Wine Country Culinary Institute began teaming up in 2024 to launch the annual February Film Feast in Walla Walla! It’s not only the kickoff to February Restaurant Month—it’s also a great way to support WCCI and the training of future culinary professionals, while celebrating food, film, and our amazing community.

(2027 Film Feast dates: TBD.)

Leaping Ahead in Film, Television & Streaming

Considering a career in film, television, and streaming? Before you move to LA, or mortgage your house to make that first feature, or send a script to your aunt’s friend who knows the hairstylist for Tom Cruise’s manager’s personal assistant, get some insight from the pros. JUMP CUTS offers hard-won wisdom from a diverse range of artists who’ve worked in the industry long enough to know its truths, having endured the tribulations and enjoyed the triumphs.

JUMP CUTS was produced by the Crush in 2023, in partnership with the Washington State Department of Commerce and Washington Filmworks.
